Climate Solutions positions and endorsements for Election 2016

Climate Solutions has taken positions on three November 2016 ballot choices: two statewide initiatives in Washington, and one proposition affecting the area of Washington served by Sound Transit. Our positions are spelled out in these articles:

Why we cannot support Initiative 732, but will not actively oppose it

In Washington State, the debate is no longer whether we should address global warming but how best to address the challenge; that shows progress. Here's our response to the carbon tax initiative, I-732.

Economic security is important. In fact, it's a core climate solution

“Climate solutions” aren’t just about reducing greenhouse gas emissions. We need to wage and win a clean energy revolution, to go all the way to a clean energy future.  But in an economy rife with inequality and insecurity, such a sweeping transition is hard for most folks to contemplate. That's why we're supporting WA Initiative 1433.

Mass transit now: to fight climate change

Over the coming several years, more than half of Washington’s emissions will come from the transportation sector. Let's vote YES on Sound Transit Proposition 1, and invest in transporation solutions that will mean less pollution, and help move the needle on climate change.
