The 2019 Summit will convene Tribes and First Nations  to advance tribal climate change policy and action by discussing current issues related to these Summit themes.

  • Traditional Knowledges: How are traditional knowledges shaping conservation and adaptation actions, while ensuring that the information is protected?
  • Tribal Climate Resiliency: How are vulnerability assessments, adaptation planning, and approaches to resiliency increasing tribal engagement in climate change mitigation and adaptation?
  • Advancing Policy: How can Tribes engage in climate policy to build tribal capacity and craft a unified message in support of tribal climate resiliency?

Tribal elected and appointed leaders, cultural and natural resources staff, health specialists, traditional elders, scientists, students and practitioners, among others.
