Cities Climate Summit II
Location
Mercer Island Community Center

People for Climate Action present a summit focused on how Northwest cities can act meaningfully to protect our climate and our future.

Come hear inspiring climate planner Susan Anderson talk about how the City of Portland and Multnomah County turned their 1993 goal of reducing emissions into a 21st-century reality. We’ve set goals in our local climate agreement, the King County-Cities Climate Collaboration (K4C). But we aren’t meeting those goals. It’s up to us, as residents, county and city staff, and council members, to say that climate does matter, and that the steps to take are right in front of us. Let’s learn from Portland as we build strong climate action plans!

Cities account for 70% of the climate emissions in the U.S. By learning from other cities, and by strengthening the last “C” in K4C, “Collaboration,” cities in King County can move beyond the steps we’ve taken so far, and put in place the robust climate action plans we need.

Come and learn what you can do to advocate for stronger climate action in your city!
