Bio

Since 2010, Virinder Singh has been Director of Regulatory and Legislative Affairs at EDF Renewable Energy, a leading North American renewable energy development company and O&M provider.

Prior to his current position, Virinder consulted investment firms, wind and solar developers, non-profits and government agencies on business planning, energy market analysis, cost modeling, project permitting, project site acquisition, and RFP bid evaluation. At PacifiCorp, he helped to steer efforts that resulted in 1,400 MW of renewable energy in the Northwest, Wyoming and Utah, and led pioneering valuation of greenhouse gas regulatory risk in resource planning. He helped to shape the structure of what became the Oregon renewable portfolio standard.

In 2002, he authored the resolution that created the WREGIS green tag tracking system.  He began his career in clean energy at the Renewable Energy Policy Project in Washington, DC, where he authored numerous peer-reviewed papers on market development, labor impacts, government procurement, and other issues, and where he testified in Congress as well as made numerous media appearances on clean energy issues.

Virinder lives in Portland, Oregon, with his wife, son and dog.  He enjoys travelling, camping, cricket, and squash, while steadily falling behind the rapidly upward shifting hipness curve set by his fellow Portlanders.
