Got Green's Climate Justice Committee would like to invite you to a Town Hall conversation about Climate Resilience. What is Climate resilience? Glad you asked!
Climate resilence is the ability to “bounce forward” to tackle the root causes of the climate crisis while creating more equitable, just, and sustainable communities. We will have two guest speakers that will be share about climate change, the displacement of communities of color, and transit oriented developement.
A little bit on the Climate Justice Commitee...
The Climate Justice Committee is made up of young leaders of color doing grassroots work to fight the roots of climate change and build climate resilient communities in a way that is relevent to communities based in South Seattle. In May of 2015, the committee surveyed 150 people from south Seattle on what climate change meant to them and what they'd like Got Green to focus on. They are currently developing a campaign that links the climate and gentrification.
Please join us on September 7, 2017 at SouthSide Commons. Food and childcare will be provided. For questions about this event, please contact me at hodan@gotgreen.org
