Annika Berman is a Senior Program Officer in the Foundation Strategy Office of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, where she leads a team advising foundation leadership on key programmatic and strategic topics. Previously, Annika was a strategy and management consultant at McKinsey & Company in Boston and worked on program management, strategy, and delivery for a number of social enterprises and nonprofits, including household clean energy access with MicroEnergy Credits, global social entrepreneurship with Ashoka, and adolescent health with World Vision Honduras. Early in her career, Annika taught environmental studies and math at an independent school in the UK and led wilderness adventure and service learning trips for teenagers. She earned an MBA at Stanford University and a BA in Economics at Yale University.
A native of the Pacific Northwest, Annika enjoys spending her free time adventuring outside with her family, whether that’s backpacking in the wilderness or making yet another trip to the neighborhood playground.
