Jessyn Farrell represents the 46th Legislative District, which includes Kenmore, Lake Forest Park and parts of North Seattle. With a B.A. from the University of Washington and a J.D. from Boston College Law School, she has focused on environmental, transportation, and social justice issues throughout her career.  Jessyn was Executive Director of Transportation Choices Coalition, where she led efforts that resulted in $25 billion in bus, rail, bike and pedestrian investments in Washington State.

In her work as a legislator Jessyn emphasizes listening and using creative thinking to find solutions that help her constituents and the people of Washington State.  Recent accomplishments include securing $500 million in education investments for our neediest children, improving efficiency at the Washington State Department of Transportation, promoting policies to rebuild Washington’s middle class, and passing one of the strongest oil transportation safety laws in the country. Jessyn also worked with colleagues to pass historic investments in our transportation system and ground-breaking legislation to spur affordable housing development near transit stations.

As a mother of three young children, she believes passionately that we can achieve our potential as a community by investing in public schools, higher education, transit-friendly neighborhoods, paid family leave, affordable childcare and our diverse economic base.  She is also committed to defending family planning and healthcare access for all families.

Jessyn sits on the Transportation Committee as Vice Chair, and on the Commerce & Gaming and Rules Committees.
