Climate action now: Let's keep making history!

Last month, hundreds of thousands of us made history. Busloads of college students, the nation’s top scientists, grandmothers, and more everyday folks raised their voices for climate change in the biggest rally for climate...ever. We flooded the streets of New York City for the People’s Climate March, and the sound of action and progress echoed from skyscrapers to shorelines leading us to this moment.

Here in Washington, too, our communities have been demanding action to protect our health, grow our clean energy economy, and ensure future generations can access what makes our state special. But in Olympia, it’s often oddly quiet. In fact, we’ve heard that some key legislators claim that they’re not hearing much about climate from their constituents.

But we know we can change that – we just have to act now to make sure our voices are heard.

Our leaders in Olympia have the ability to take action and make serious impacts on our fight against climate change. Right now, we must demand that our state legislature limit our carbon pollution, reduce our oil dependence, and make Washington coal free. It’s their job to represent what’s important to their constituents. Let’s let them know that we want to start securing our clean energy future today.

We can only do it if we are united with the thousands of people across the state that have already pledged their support for climate action - will you add your voice to the list?

As Governer Jay Inslee said, we are the first generation to feel the effects of climate change—and the last generation that can do something about it. Let's make sure that we do!
