Climate Solutions is excited to invite you to our Annual Dinner on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, from 5:00–8:30 PM at the Westin Seattle.  

We are honored to welcome Wawa Gatheru, Founder and Executive Director of Black Girl Environmentalist, as our keynote speaker. Earlier this week, our staff storyteller Ayana Harscoet had the opportunity to sit down with Wawa for a conversation. Here’s a short excerpt from their discussion:

As part of the evening’s program, we’re also pleased to feature former Washington Governor Jay Inslee, a longtime champion for bold climate progress and now a a Climate Solutions board member, alongside Board President Emiko Atherton, Executive Director Gregg Small, and Deputy Director Savitha Reddy Pathi

This year’s dinner theme, Roots of Resilience, celebrates the connections that ground our work and the community that sustains progress through change. Join partners, supporters, and community leaders for an inspiring evening of reflection, conversation, and shared commitment to climate action. 

Evening schedule: 

  • 5:00–6:15 PM: Check-in and networking 
  • 6:15–8:00 PM: Dinner and program 
  • 8:00–8:30 PM: Additional networking

Teresa Myers

Events Director, Climate Solutions

Teresa oversees Climate Solutions' signature fundraising events. She is responsible for coordinating strategic planning efforts in event development as well as organizing the Climate Solutions Annual Dinner in Seattle, Annual Reception in Portland and Annual Reception in Olympia and our other development events.

From 1999 to 2009 she served as the Development Director for Climate Solutions. Over the last 25+ years she has played an integral role in developing the fundraising program and growing the revenue stream for the organization. Prior to joining Climate Solutions, she worked in the financial industry as an independent financial advisor.

Teresa received her B.S. in Business Administration from Ohio State University, majoring in Economics and Marketing.

An avid cyclist, Teresa spent 1 1/2 years cycle touring around the world on a tandem with her husband. She also enjoys hiking, traveling, tennis, pickleball, jewelry making, and hanging out with her family.
