Location
Virtual event
This Event is part of our Climate Leaders Live series.

For close to 25 years, Climate Solutions has been working to accelerate the solutions to the climate crisis, and with your help and support, we can, we must, and we will transition our region to a clean and just future.

We are in a highly energized and historic time for local, regional, and national action on climate. The clean energy transition feels more real than eversolutions like 100% clean electricity for our grid, cleaner fuels and electrification to power our transportation, and clean and energy-smart buildings where we work and live.

To achieve climate stability and resilience, we must address injustice and inequity in our own communities and beyond. All people, all communities, and all nations deserve the opportunity to share equitably in health, economic security, dignity, self-determination, and the pursuit of happiness. Racial justice must be a priority in this next era of climate leadership.

This special virtual fundraising event for Climate Solutions featured:

Dr. Robert Bullard, Distinguished Professor of Urban Planning and Environmental Policy and Director of the Bullard Center for Environmental and Climate Justice. Often described as the father of environmental justice, he is an award-winning author of eighteen books that address sustainable development, environmental racism, urban land use, industrial facility siting, community reinvestment, housing, transportation, climate justice, disasters, emergency response, and community resilience, smart growth, and regional equity.

Sam Ricketts, a Co-Founder and Co-Director for Evergreen Action. He is also a Nonresident Senior Fellow at the Center for American Progress. Previously, Sam spent a decade as Governor Jay Inslee’s right-hand man on national climate policy. Ahead of the 2020 elections he led climate policy, outreach and strategy for Inslee’s influential presidential campaign. In prior roles, Sam was the first executive director of the Congressional Sustainable Energy & Environment Coalition (SEEC), and worked in the Washington State Governor’s Office, Democratic Governors Association, Working Families Party, and in several federal and state campaigns.

Paula Sardinas, NBPLA, currently serves as the President/CEO of FMS Global Strategies, LLC, a #Black and other #BIPOC Governmental Affairs Advocacy firm, and The Purpose Driven Girl, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, focused on empowering #BIPOC women and girls who are often unable to use their voice— due to intersectionality and structural racism. Her public policy career spans 28 years working in Telecom, Engineering, Banking, IT, STEM, Cannabis, Social Equity, and Financial Literacy. She is a member of the National Black Professional Lobbyist Association in good standing.
