Pressure grows on Washington State Senate as the House of Representatives passes a Clean Fuel Standard for second year in a row
Tailpipe exhaust is responsible for nearly half of Washington state’s climate and air pollution--call it a sin of emission. We can reverse the trend by passing a Clean Fuel Standard--just as Oregon, California and BC have already done.
A growing list of states and territories have adopted carbon pricing policies, enacted more robust low-carbon fuel standards, and committed to a timeline for transitioning to 100% clean electricity, but Oregon is not among them.
We need one more big push to make clear to AAA of Oregon and other corporate interests that blocking climate action is bad for business.
Next Tuesday, November 5th is Election Day.

Yes, the same AAA that you call for a lifeline when your car breaks down – but apparently that lifeline doesn’t extend to the climate emergency we’re currently experiencing.

Washington is the only West Coast jurisdiction lacking a standard for low-carbon transportation fuels. That can change, if we act now.
The oil industry is at it again… this time they're fighting a Clean Fuels Standard in Olympia. They won't give up in their efforts to monopolize our energy choices. But we won't give up either.
