Smart Grid Northwest’s Executive Director, Bryce Yonker will introduce Alstom Grid North America’s President and CEO, Michael Atkinson. Michael will discuss the future of grid intelligence, what’s driving smart grid innovation, what Alstom is doing across the Northwest, and share Alstom’s story. Michael will field Q&A after his remarks.

A great day for West Coast climate leadership

In a new pact, Governors of Washington, Oregon and California along with British Columbia’s Premier agreed that all four jurisdictions will account for the costs of carbon pollution and that, where appropriate and feasible, link programs to create consistency and predictability across the region of 53 million people. The leaders also committed to adopting and maintaining low carbon fuel standards in each jurisdiction.

The destruction of Indonesia's peat lands - the burning of both the forests' trees and carbon rich soils - now accounts for 4% of the world's total greenhouse gas emissions alone.
